This means that most of the jobs they offer you are from local clients, making it harder to look for a job. They commonly set up contracts for their models where they can recoup from their model's projects as a booking agency. However, a real modeling agency would never ask for a model to pay a start-up cost.

 This is common when you're still starting. Modeling agencies might ask you to do some volunteer work to help you build your portfolio. This might sound unfair, but it's a big help to you and the modeling agency to make connections and establish new contacts. Everyone goes through having to work for free or for little money if they want to make it big in the industry. It's not always about the money, sometimes it just for the love and passion of the job.

They might ask you to dye your hair, cut it short, and change your make up routine-little things like these are normal and shouldn't be taken in a negative way.
